October 23 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pmFree
Join the SolidCAD team for our Infrastructure Road Show series in Western Canada!
Our roadshow series is designed to uncover emerging technologies and new software, share best practices and industry trends and provide you with the best tips and tricks to streamline your workflow and finish your project faster.
This year, we have created two different tracks for you to choose from. Join us for this free event to learn more about topics such as:
TRACK 1 (McKnight East Room)
Road Reconstruction – 9:00-10:00 am
When working through Road Reconstruction projects, there are many tedious tasks that we carry out on a regular basis. In this session, we will explore methodologies and workflows to create Rehab Corridors, design Roadway Medians and develop Right Turn Lane design including ditches. We will also review methods to project objects and add crossings into profile view and sections.
Drawing Corruption and Improvements – 10:15-11:00 am
Have you experienced slow opening of drawings, crashing, slow plotting and pausing within AutoCAD? The DWG files corruption can cause loss of work and missed project deadlines. This corruption can affect your files and spread across your projects rapidly. In this session, we will explore methodologies and workflows to prevent files from getting corrupted due to internal and external factors. We will review techniques to improve drawing performance and show you how to repair the drawings.
What’s new in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and InfraWorks- 11:15-12:00 pm
Join us as we uncover all the new features for AutoCAD, Civil 3D and InfraWorks. If you’ve recently upgraded, or are planning to, it’s important to understand what has changed to get the most out of your subscription budget. Our Civil team has hand-picked some of the most notable changes and will deliver them along with a live demonstration.
Lunch: Civil Tools/Pressure Pipes – 12:00 -1:00 pm
Introduction to the PVC Pressure Pipe catalogue/Civil Tools
In order to facilitate a complete PVC pressure pipe network design, SolidCAD has developed a custom PVC pressure pipe catalogue that includes PVC pipes, fittings (tees, crosses, reducers, plugs, couplings and bends) that correspond with Canadian standards specific to sizes and materials.
SolidCAD Civil Tools
Discover SolidCAD’s time saving tools designed to increase productivity when working with Civil 3D Pipe networks, grading projects, alignments and profiles.
TRACK 2 (McKnight West Room)
AutoCAD MAP 3D Connecting to the World of GIS – 9:00-10:00 am
Do you need to use GIS data in Civil 3D or AutoCAD Map 3D?
Join us to examine the latest features that connect GIS data files with your ArcGIS data. In this session, we will explore how to use the Autodesk Connector for ArcGIS, allowing you to browse datasets and add ArcGIS layers into your map drawing and review the tools that help clean up and manage data.
Learn how to connect to a variety of image files as well as create custom coordinate systems and import and export to Google KML files.
InfraWorks Deep Dive – 10:15 – 11:30 am
Dynamo – 11:30-12:00 pm
Take Care of Repetitive Tasks with Dynamo: We all want to avoid spending hours or days doing repetitive, error-prone manual operations. Dynamo is the most recent automation tool that we have available free with Civil 3D 2020. Dynamo allows us to create visual scripts faster, less learning curve and testing time than traditional LISP or VBA scripts. Join us for a demo of Dynamo’s current capabilities for Civil 3D.
Lunch: Visualizations with Lumion – 12:00-1:00 pm
Taking Visualization to the Next Level with Lumion: InfraWorks produces great looking visuals very quickly. But, to take visualization to the next level, can cost both time and money that many projects don’t allow. Lumion is a great solution to these challenges because it produces impressive visuals quickly and is one of the easiest programs to learn. See how Lumion can take your InfraWorks model to the next level. Learn how to create a professional visualization in record time with a hands-on demonstration.Share:
